How to Give a Testimonial
It’s simple to do – below are three templates you can follow to share your story, whether you choose to provide a written testimonial (email it to oncb@oncb.org) or a video testimonial! Template 1 (for more experienced or newer certificants)
Please write 2–3 sentences about your certification journey using these prompts:
- “Earning my [insert ONCB credential] was important to me because [why it mattered to you—career growth, confidence, recognition, etc.].
- It’s helped me [describe a specific benefit—land a new role, deepen my knowledge, advocate for patients, etc.].
- I’d encourage other nurses to get certified because [share what makes it worth it—credibility, pride, impact, etc.].”
Template 2 (for newer certificants)
Please write 2–3 sentences about your certification journey using these prompts:
- “I decided to pursue ONCB certification because [what inspired or motivated you—personal challenge, professional goal, peer encouragement, etc.].
- Preparing for the exam taught me [a key takeaway—new clinical insight, improved patient care, greater confidence, etc.].
- Since becoming certified, I’ve noticed [a real-world impact—more respect, better opportunities, stronger leadership, etc.].”
Template 3 (for experienced & re-certified nurses)
Please write 2–3 sentences about your certification journey using these prompts:
- “After more than a decade in nursing, I continue to renew my [insert ONCB credential] because [why it still matters—professional pride, staying current, leading by example, etc.].
- Re-certifying reminds me [what you’ve gained—how far you’ve come, how the field has evolved, or what still inspires you].
It’s more than a credential—it’s [share what it represents to you—excellence, dedication, legacy, etc.].
