The Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board (ONCB) is pleased to announce Matthew Price, MS, RN, CNP, ONP-C, RNFA, was selected to serve as President for 2020-2021. Mr. Price is past member and chair of the ONCB’s Recertification Committee, a representative group involved in recertification regulation for certificants holding ONCB’s three credentials. He has served as Director of the ONCB since 2017. Mr. Price is Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner at Orthopedic One in Upper Arlington, Ohio, specializing in shoulder, elbow, and orthopaedic trauma.
“As Director and President-Elect, Matt has shown a deep commitment to orthopaedic nursing certification and a consistent desire to promote its value to many stakeholders. I now very much look forward to working with Matt during his year as President of ONCB. I am certain he will provide strong leadership for the board in continuing to reach nurses with the message of the value of orthopaedic certification,” said Dottie Roberts, EdD, MSN, MACI, RN, OCNS-C®, CMSRN, CNE, Executive Director of ONCB. “With his commitment to recognizing practice excellence through certification, Matt will help ONCB achieve its vision– Orthopaedic nursing certification is the standard of knowledge and excellence in musculoskeletal health care.”
The Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board (ONCB) offers the only certification examinations for registered nurses in orthopaedic practice in the United States. The mission of ONCB is to improve musculoskeletal health by providing orthopaedic nurses with certifications that promote their professional development and advance the practice of orthopaedic nursing. Currently, over 7000 registered nurses hold the board’s three credentials: Orthopaedic Nurse Certified (ONC®), Orthopaedic Clinical Nurse Specialist Certified (OCNS-C®), and Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner Certified (ONP-C®). A volunteer board of 12 members, including a consumer representative, provides strategic direction for orthopaedic nursing certification examination development and maintenance activities.
