ONCB now accepts unlimited amounts of continuing medical education (CME) credit, as well as limited credit from approved providers of pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and social work continuing education. Click here for detailed guidelines on the many types of professional activities that can be used to meet recertification requirements.
Every CE certificate should have a statement identifying the activity sponsor as an approved provider of continuing education in nursing, medicine, or the other accepted disciplines. An activity will not be accepted for recertification if the CE certificate does not have this statement.
A CE activity can be used only once during a 5-year certification term. This includes multiple presentations on the same content, or annually required CE courses (e.g., domestic violence) in the certificant’s state of licensure.
Contact hours for any one offering may not be split between one certification period and another certification period.
Credit is not given for basic life support (BLS) or BLS instructor courses.
